Rick Ewing was raised on a farm east of Ashland. He attended Montgomery elementary and graduated from Ashland High School in 1988 where he was president of the FFA chapter and a member of the marching band. His wife, Jenny, is also a 1988 graduate of Ashland High School. After living and working in Columbus for 9 years, they returned to Ashland in 2001 and built their home on his parent’s farm. They now have 6 children (2 girls and 4 boys with birthdates between 1996 and 2007) who either are, or will be, attending the Ashland City Schools.
Rick is a registered professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and Building Technologies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has worked as a consulting structural engineer from 1992 to 2004 at a Columbus consulting firm. He is now employed at Ashland University as Director of the Physical Plant.
