Dr. James Wolfe and his wife Kathy have four children, all educated in the Ashland City Schools. Daughter Erika is a senior at Ashland High School and a participant in the post-secondary program at Ohio State University-Mansfield. Son Jake is a sophomore at Ashland High School. Son Paul is an eighth grade student at Ashland Middle School. Son John is a fifth grader in the TDP program at Taft Elementary. The family lives in Countryside in the City of Ashland, but also spends time at their farm which straddles the Blackfork in Milton and Weller Townships.
Dr. Wolfe is a graduate of Crestview High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. He received his medical degree from the Ohio State University. He then had additional training in cardiology and infectious disease at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Dr. Wolfe completed a residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He then completed a residency in anesthesiology and pain management at the Ohio State University. Dr. Wolfe has received board certifications in internal medicine, anesthesiology, pain management and quality assurance. Currently, Dr. Wolfe provides pain management consultation and interventional pain treatment with MidOhio PainCare with offices in Ashland at MidOhio Orthopaedics and Mansfield at MedCentral-Cricket Lane.
Having previously served as board president and vice-president, Dr. Wolfe remains committed to building positive relationships among all board members, administrators, faculty, staff, parents and community. He is a vocal proponent for better educational opportunities for all students of the district. Wolfe is a believer in the transformative power of education in the life of every child. Wolfe has noted that Ashland’s motto “preparing students for a lifetime of learning” is both the challenge and the promise for every child’s future success.
